Article writing for SEO?

I’ve heard that writing and submitting articles is an excellent SEO technique, and can get good traffic.

Which article submission services are good? Is there any good practice to follow when writing?

My site I’m promoting is related to roulette strategy (Best Roulette System FREE - How to win at roulette).

I have recently been testing the water with this myself. I have written and submitted a couple of articles pertaining to website design and Ecommerce. So far by using Yahoo to find websites where my articles have been published one of them has been published on around 2790 websites (submitted around a month ago), and the other one has been published on 1030 websites (also submitted around a month ago) but I am yet to really see any benefit in terms of traffic or SERPS position. I dont know if this is because I need to allow a little more time for the links to effect our serps in Google, but so far it hasnt had the results I had hoped for...

Thats a phenominal result. Surely links from all those sites has got to be worth a lot! I think its just time before you see the results in the SERPS.

Article submission is one of my techniques I use until now, it helps my site to get backlinks and makes my site popular by putting the links of my site on the author resources of the article.

well, if you write really well, some people tend to keep a copy of your article or re-post them as well. this could give you more popularity thus may increase your traffic and of course some links would still be present in the article that would give you a nice push with your keywords

Everyone knows that writing articles and submiting these to article directories is a good way to increase your site's rankings in Search Engines and as well increase your Page Rank (PR). However, it is not simply write, submit and forget. If you do that, you will very likely not see any improvement in your rankings at all. Article writers also use this method to advertise and promote their site by offering small sniplets of information to their readers, hoping that these readers will visit their site for more information. Thus with so many article writers publishing thousands and thousands of articles everyday, the competition out there is tough indeed.

Is this real? Surely no-one really does this?

In my experience my articles tend to get published by a few sites and then rapidly drop off the main pages. And yes - they are well written unique articles.

Writing articles can be a great way to market a website and grow your back link status at the same time. I do not suggest that this is the only method you use but combined with other methods it can be very effective. You MUST write unique content, you need to find sites that allow do follow links in the authors signature and you will be on your way.

I would just google "free articles" or "free article submission" and see what you come up with to start. You can find many sites that let you add your article to there directory for others to use on there site. When others add your article to there site, they are also adding your signature with back link. This is what is impotant, if you don't get a do follow link, find another site to work with. You can write one article a week and submit to 5 or so sites and after a few months you will begin to see some good results.

I think the best way to do this is to hire someone to pump out articles in a great number, and make sure that the articles are optimized with the right usage of the keywords in the content. Its nothing more to it.

If you are looking for somebody to "pump out some articles" let me know. I am always on the look for some side jobs like this. I have done paid forum posting, blogging and article rewrites professionally in the past and I always complete jobs on time.
