Covert Video for use on web

Hi,
we have been sent a .mov file from a client who want to have this shown on our website promoting his 'wares'.

the .mov file is 54mb - so can't just upload it,

whats the best way/software to convert this to a lower grade which can easily be shown from a website and also to edit the .mov file.

1) upload to YouTube and then embed in your site - we've done this with a couple of vids including:

or

2) export/convert .mov to .flv and present in Flash - like we've done with our portfolio animation:

thanks I've downloaded some software called WinMPG Video Convert and this seems to work really well for converting to flash.

The only problem I've got is that the flash automatically plays and there is no pause/play button - so another problem to look at,

maybe your guys know of a way of adding the play/pause buttons to a flash movie?
