Unhappy Very Confused by Internal Page Rank!!!

Hi all,

I have had my Beachdecor website up and running now for about 5 months. All my pages are optimized for SEO.
I have been submitting my website to about 300 directories and had a few link exchanges with other webmasters. Lots of Directories do not allow to submit webpages other than the index page.
My Index Page has risen to a PR3 and appears on #2 of Google Search for my keyword phrase.
Some of my other web pages had a PR of 0 for a while, and have now gone back to n/a (!?!?!) - this happened at the time when my index page went to 3 (from 0).
What I absolutely do not understand - the pages which I have optimized (tropical home decor, hawaiian home decor) have got a PR of n/a, how come that a sitemap has a PR of 2 (!!!!) and a Resources page a PR of 0??? They have not been optimized at all, just thrown together!
How can I get my internal web pages up there in the search engine results, get a better page rank and more displays? If the directories do not allow submitting sub pages?
I have written articles, and even a squidoo lens on tropical home decor, have posted classified ads on usfreeads, but none of these show up in the organic search engine results. This is very frustrating. I am missing out big time on visitors.
Has anybody got any idea why this PR is happening, and what I can do to change it?

You'll need deep links to the pages you would like to rank better, add more good content, it will help the pages to rank well, Also optimize individual pages and promote them using anchor text.
