how to write a b2b website promotion plan?

I have a rough idea but i want to know how professional internet marketer will conceptualize and implement it.

approach it like you are doing a normal business plan - this is after all a business...yes?

So you need to do market analysis to gauge your market, conceptualize products/services, do a cash flow forecast, develop a marketing strategy and the subsequent marketing plan which is reviewed often.

Not forgetting that just because your business is web-based, that you can afford to lose sight of offline marketing activities (include them in your plan)

You're talking basic SEO as one of the answers, but this is no different than the essential underpinning of any marketing plan.
The key lies in the age-old AIDA formula (that I have a habit of mentioning [too?] often enough in my posts here!).

But to succeed in selling anything to anyone, you need to determine and come up with the wording that tells prospective clients/customers What's In It For Them. And this follows a four part process.
1. Make them aware that they have a problem: Get their A-ttention.
2. Advise them that you have the solution: Arouse their I-nterest.
3. Explain all the features and benefits in as much detail as it calls for: Create their D-esire to buy it and anticipate and dispose of all their possible objections.
4. Make it easy for them to contact you and/or place an order: A-sk them to buy what you're offering.

Your website should follow this pattern, just as every offline ad, direct mailing pieces, flyer, whatever ought to do.

Thanks for the above responses. I am looking more from online marketing operations perspective. Just assume If a client is asking you to prepare a Promotion plan for already existing B2B website how would you take it further.
