Press releases do work. For
SEO and for getting your name out to relevant people
How much did you pay?
Who did you use?
You need to have a media section on your site/s with the press releases archived for journalists to access and use. Also some images that they can use to illustrate the story.
There can be a problem with some press release firms.
Let's suppose I want to sell bird seed for pigeon breeders.
One press release firm says: "I can send your release out to 20,000 journalists/media outlets!"
Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, no, not really. It would be a waste of my money. How so? 19,999 of those journalists/media outlets do not care a fig for pigeons or their food. The 20,000th one who works for The Pigeon Fanciers World, I can just email the press release to him for the minimal cost of the email.
There are some free services. Now,
pressbox - free press release distribution and news - press store - copywriting services can't be a BAD service. It must get a good response because
PR firms are using it fairly heavily to get exposure for their clients. UK-based, though international users.
Response Source :: www.responsesource.com is a good service which is both professional and inexpensive to use. And you can target your releases to various sections of the media. Very handy. It is based in the UK, however.
