Default You gotta buy traffic!

DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE!

You have to buy targeted traffic to be successful at this game friends. Redirects targeted to your keywords and of course pay per click Rule.

Sincerely,

Benjamin De Mers

Hi Benjamin,
I agree that buying traffic helps and it should not be over looked but would say it is not a must. There are over 100 different ways to advertise online and a lot of the very best ways are free. We do plan to look into some different ways to advertise in the future but as of yet we have not spent any money on advertising and we are having a hard time keeping up with our current work load.
We have had to hire more and more people it seems like every month and our business is less then 9 months old. We get 100% of all our work online.
So I would say buying traffic is not a must but hard work is.

Default Not a must?

Janeth,

I agree with you that it is not all and that was not my point. I was in a hurry and agree that it is a part of an overall strategy.

Forgive me if I sounded isolationist!

The free programs are not ALL bad just 90% of them.

That is why we have chosen to focus on MANAGED RESOURCES instead of what every one else is just regurgitating without knowledge making a bad thing worse.

That's the gist of what I was trying to bring serious thought to.

THanks

Benjamin

Default Janeth, I have to agree with you!

He lost me, If you have the money to pay, great! Most of the people here would rather be smart about their sites and learn more about the ins and outs of succeeding online. The best ways to get business are ones you don't have to pay for, doorway pages, keyword rich, link pages, relevant content pages and what ever else you can think of.
I say learn about the search engines and use that knowlege to advance yourself and your site. Though if you have money spend it, but you are not learning anything about your site and eventually you customers will learn by your site appearance that they probably can do a better job.
Sometimes learning on the way is a good thing!

But what ever works for you is all that counts,

Good Luck my Friend!

Gary

Default Options?

With spam killing email, With keyword rich program generated virtual pages killing anything under about a thousand pages, with link farms killing link popularity and robots that now KNOW you are using doorway pages and PENALIZE or quarantine you for it, the only SAFE bet is to buy redirects or PPC. I don't say this because I sell them, which I don't I say this because it's the only safe bet out there.

I think it is safe to say this.

Wishing you all happy hunting. The pickin's gettin' slim in "free"ville, shady! Almost to the bone...

Try managed resource facilities!

Default How about some links?

Most of these ideas have excellent points. How about some links for us newbies in this game? What are some good places for me to get started in the world of opt-in e-mail advertising, traffic buying, or even free advertising?

I suppose you are right if you are relying on SPAMMY techniques and black hat SEO. However, if you are utilizing good SEO and avoiding the things you mentioned many businesses can succeed without PPC. It is probably best to develop a sound strategy that utilizes PPC, SEO, as well as other free and paid methods but to say you can't succeed without PPC because all the SPAM tricks are being discovered is wrong.

Default Google AdSense

Google AdSense is rocking the world of Pay Per Click advertising and they have not even released Froogle yet!

I agree with Janeth and others who say that it is certainly worthwhile to invest some money in a good SEO helper program that helps you monitor what the CONTENT of other competitors is. Overall, if you have a pretty good idea of what the content is and can compare that over several dozen websites and then look at your own content it is a safe bet to realize SOMETHING you are not doing and get in the top two or three pages. That is about how far anybody goes anyway in looking for a resource in a single search session.

Users are starting to look deeper into the search pages too. Used to be that a search user would only look on the first page. Now they will look at page two or three. So don't despair if you are at position 27. You will still get page views and as search evolves and gets more educated users who know that most of the stuff at the top is either encyclopedic or just craftily designed doorway pages to rip off artists selling fear they will look deeper into the content of their search. Users are also using longer phrases for narrowing their search down.

In the end, buying targeted traffic is still a great way to get around ALOT of the BS that is around.

If you want to try a resource that is really buzzing, you should check out the NEW warehouse. Free Leads Warehouse just got a facelift.

We blew up the warehouse!

Ditto!

Getting free clicks is basically word of mouth, posts on message boards, exchanging ads on one another's sites... But does it really bring in enough paying customers on a continous basis, Jan?

Hmmmm... *shrugs shoulders*

"it is certainly worthwhile to invest some money in a good SEO helper program"

Why? I don't understand. On a weekly basis, why not just check the first two pages of Google, Yahoo and MSN for such sites?

Default And that is well and good!

Perry,

That is well and good! I use that strategy quite a bit and pop that site into my SEO machine and it takes care of everything for me. If they want to link they will. If not they don't. Lots of sites will use hidden link partner pages now. So they don't even care about showing them they just want the inbound links. Kinda crappy that folks have been boonswaggled out of doing what the internet was created for.
