Default Email with PPT with links

Hi everyone:

I've a client who wants to start a very small email campaign to certain of his customers. Against all my advice they want to use Powerpoint!!! The issue here is that the powerpoint file has a link to an excel file. So attaching the presentation to an email won't work. I have argued with them to change to an internet format for the presentation (flash mainly) but they MUST stick to Powerpoint. Does anyone know a workaround to be able to send a PPS file with a link to a XLS file in an email, attached???

Thanks for any help.

Yeah...

I know I'd open an e-mail that had a .ppt attachment...

Honestly, I probably wouldn't even look at an e-mail that had anything more than basic HTML. Receiving e-mail with any attachments is a huge security risk. The messages won't get opened, and I know of a few antivirus programs that would probably pop up a nasty warning or delete the attachment.
