Hi all,

I was reading this thread: Distributing press release - will it be effective?
and came across PRWeb::The Online Visibility Company in the replies.

Have any of you actually used this company? Are they any good at increasing PR effectively? Which is the best service for this? (Standard / Social / Media / SEO)

It looks like a great way of link building, besides online business directories. I'm skeptical, why aren't there more companies doing the same thing if it's so easy?

Whether it's worth the price is YMMV but they're a solid company.

PrWeb is a very good service and a while back I wrote a series of blog articles regarding writing and distributing an effective press release. Here's a snippet of the conclusion of the article...

Quote:
I submitted a paid release through PR.com and paid the $25 basic listing fee. PR.com delivered as promised, much faster than promised. The only thing I would do over is that I’d pay the extra $20 for a link next time. The staff was very helpful in editing my release and at first I was annoyed when they sent it back to me for editing but after the second time I had to re-edit, I had learned a few valuable lessons about writing an effective release and I was thankful that PR.com’s diligent staff were there to help me out.
As research for the article I sampled 8 different paid and free services and found that PR.com was definitely worth the $50 for a release with a link.

I have used them and think they deliver good value for the money.

In the USA, you have 4 choices for distributing press releases:

1. PR Newswire - traditional, most expensive, lots of services, talk to a human

2. BusinessWire - ditto

3. MarketWire - newer, less expensive, many services, talk to a human

4. PRWeb - newer, least expensive, fewer services, no humans to talk with
