Default Squidoo

Who is driving the internet, the search engines or the social media sites? It gets harder every day to know where to spend my time.

A few days ago, I decided to give Squidoo a second of my time. I threw a page together wrote some poorly written text and went to work on my website. I spent the next couple days designing and setting up a website for the same topic as the page I had written on Squidoo.

When I checked my affiliate link I found that I had already made $40.00 from links coming from Squidoo to an affiliate site I had. For time spent the Squidoo page made me a lot more money than the site.

I’ve not tried to do any marketing with the Squidoo page. But Suqidoo lets me create as many pages on as many different topics as I want. I am able to market those pages through the community at Squidoo as well as through the search engines. And I make a percent of adsense ads at Squidoo.

I’m thinking I’ll spend a little more time on Squidoo but wondering if anyone has made any real money using Squidoo.

Yes, the more I look into it the less I like it. I've not really been able to find any social media sites that I really like for marketing.

I have a friend who is in the same business as I am and was bringing
in more members to her affiliate program and questioned her on it.

Try Squidoo and build a lens with a title that relates to your
businesses. Drive traffic to it and you will see results.

OK, I tried it and decided to use a Lens depicting my day to day
ventures of building a home business. Two days later I was
surprised to see it listed on the first page in Google. Anyway,
within a month I had five signups to my business and some
prospects that come back for regular visits. Does it work?
It works for me although there are people and friends
in networking sites and forums, etc. that would rather not
visit Squidoo??? Competition with what they are using....
who knows. It's a free service and it's producing results.

I think I'll play with it a little more and see what I can do.

When I started with the Squid I had a look at the top
lenses in my category and looked over the training
and tips to maximize the appeal of my lens and just
basically see what works. Still learning...

The one drawback to a lens is you can't place
your own widgets or widgets you would like
to place on it, for example ...ads from Contact Them
or ranking widgets from Izea Ranks. Your restricted
in that aspect but that's were I link it to a Blog
on Blogger that I have.
