Re: What are metatags
Foolme:
I am no pro, but as far as I understant it, metatags are words that you add into your code on your website. In the software I use, Sitespinner, there is a line where you can put in a bunch of metatag words. When the webcrawlers (robots that look for websites to add to searh engines like Google or Yahoo) see these metatag words, supposedly they use them for key words when somebody does a search for your site. Since there are sometimes thousands of people using the same metatags, even though you use some good words, you might still be way down on the list. So when you plug in the metatags in search engines, you still don't come up (because you are way down on the list). Also the web crawlers only go by about every 45 days (that's what I herd anyway). Well, I don't know it this was much help, it's kind of like the blind leading the blind, but I tried.
