Default Adsense and YouTube

I have had a website since 1998 selling a video on-line. The video was produced in 1996/7 and the idea was to produce a website that would allow me to sell on-line and I was going to become a millionaire.
Unfortunately, the last bit never never happened, at least not with this idea.

The video covers the history of golf in the UK and US and the website is A Royal and Ancient History

The video is conveniently split into eighteen sections.

I would like to either increase sales of the video or alternatively attract advertising income using Google Adsense on YouTube.
I understand that my sales may well increase if I offer dvd format rather than video, but my biggest concern is that I would lose control of the content with the potential of easier unauthorised copying.
The video is 60 minutes in length and I figure splitting the video into the eighteen sections and loading to YouTube in a sequence of episodes would become newsworthy and generate interest and a source of advertising income.

Am I living in "cloud cuckoo land" or do you think my idea has legs?
Any feedback, comments including any examples where this type of marketing has been used with or without success would be most welcome.

Default Re: Adsense and YouTube

So when people buy the video they only get a electronic version of it? I think all the adsense also takes away from what your trying to do. if your trying to sell a video why place adsense all around the page?
