Until today, I hadn't gotten any sparks from this conference but now CNET has changed all that. After hearing Shelby Bonnie, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at
CNET speak at the conference, I'm honestly excited about what the company is doing.
Some general information: CNET Networks, a leading global media company, currently has 65 million unique users and offers six print magazines. The company works hard to penetrate foreign markets and has two online sites and over 300 employees in China alone.
The main focus of CNET is high quality destinations. It targets people who are passionate about certain topics and this focus is key to CNET's success.
The level of attention and the value CNET places on content is another leading factor. CNET strives to understand given categories and be leaders in providing information about those categories.
CNET is also very big on online advertisement innovation and came up with three of the four recently adopted advertising formats.
What CNET is doing is really fascinating. How they measure user information and then repackage that information. I think it's definitely a company to keep an eye on...
