Default Breaking into the commerical market

A client of ours in doing really well in the organic search results on G/Y/MSN. The company provides cd duplication / cd replication /dvd replication etc and is currently in the top five for most of his main key phrases. The level of traffic he gets is excellent and he gets plenty of enquiries. The problem he has with these enquiries is that many of them come from people wishing to do small runs of cd's for hobby purposes or the order is too small for them to deal with.

The client has asked me what i can do to get him more business from the commercial sector with the view to providing promotional credit card CD runs and such. When the client mentioned this to me i told him that the reason most companies wouldnt use Google to find a company who provides this sort of service is because they will usually have a company that they work with already or would follow a recommendation from a friend.

So here’s my question! Has anyone got any advice as to how my client can break into the commercial sector?

Not really. I know he would be more than happy to pay for some advertising if it was in the right place. This is an area i haven't really dealt with before as I've always been pure SEO. When you're searching for sites to advertise on what do you usually do?

Well, my first suggestion would be to add content that explains to the potential customer that they are in the commercial sector and would be happy to take the order. It seems that they are getting the exploratory traffic they need to see it that end of the business is vialble for them. They are getting traffic, they need to expand on it.

Second, if they have good SERPs for a term that's related to the basic commercial business, build on that. Don't change anything, but with the proper linking to new content for the commercial business, eventual the SE's would pick up on it. If the page your talking about comes up above the fold, then the SE's "pay attention" to that page, so a new link or new content will get indexed quickly.

I know it's not "simple" to add pages to a website, but in the long run, adding 4 or 5 pages of content, when there is a good amount of business to be had, is worth it.

Sage advice from TameCrow.

That's definitely the route to follow and it works like a charm. I get traffic and calls all the time with listings in a few select commercial directories. Yellow page ads work as well. As a bonus, the web links get picked up all over the place.
