Exclamation Are You Being Ripped Off By Clickbank?

Is Clickbank Still A Safe Choice?

I have a product in mind and I'm thinking of using clickbank as the processor.

I've heard about problems with the hop links (I truly want my affiliates to get credit for all their rightfully earned sales.)

2. The ease with which clickbank issues refunds, some other merchant was talking about how he used paypal and clickbank and conducted a test, he received quite a number of clickbank refunds and no paypal refund requests.

3. On the other hand, how can you ignore the affiliate army that clickbank can raise for you.

what do you think?

Neiman Marcus will gladly accept your car tire if you wish to return it.

Oddly enough Neiman Marcus does not retail car tires.

Sears grew to be as big as it did by the guarantee above their doors.

Might be some customer retention, cost savings, stats that would warrant the approach of friendly return service.

There will always be returns - anyone who has a problem with such, likely sells an inferior product or service.

Now if the guy who spent all that time trying to see which processor performed better had put the effort into producing a better product at the same price...imagine what kind of success he could achieve.

Testing to see which processor performs better, would seem to indicate low / poor profit margins....

The refunds you will get is a small percentage of the sales you make...and since many buyers haven't heard of Clickbank or know what an affiliate program is, you shouldn't worry about the hoplinks.

I tried Clickbank for 6 months, never earned a dime, dumped them and won't be an affiliate again.

Same here!!

I believe they charge Publishers if they don't make any sales. These charges could be greater than any commission for publishers.

They appear to hop to some, what I call, poor quality stuff....

For example;

Get 1,000,000 clicks for $49.00.

Make $5,000.00 a day in three easy moves.

And similar stuff.

I've also heard bad stuff from clickbank since I began working online. That's why I've never been into it.

Recently I had a vendor from Clickbank contact Clickbank because I ranked higher than him for keywords he was trying to optimize for. And Clickbank deleted my account on his word.

I did some research on his site and it doesn't show up anywhere in Google.

So I don't know about the vendor side. But Clickbank seems to take the words of whiners over those who are just trying to make a living.

Does not look too good, does it?

Any other firms offering similar services that are recommended?

Unless Clickband has done somethig about this recently, is's very easy to rip off Affiliates using Clickbank links because the Clickbank part of the URL can be deleted and substituted for your own (if you are so inclined). This way one can get the product cheaper because one also gets paid for selling it.

Ok, let's put it in perspective: A visitor goes to a site and sees the hop link. Visitor wants the product but also wants to cheat. So visitor goes to Clickbank and signs up (unless visitor already has a Clickbank ID). Now Visitor gets his own Clickbank URL for the product and uses it to buy. In essence, visitor gets paid a commission to buy.

If you run Clickbank as a Vendor you may want to supply your affiliates with a decent link cloaker to prevent that from happening to them. You could also refer them to something like TinyURL to protect their links.

I have promoted Clickbank products for several years and I have done very well with them. I make sales almost everyday. There are a few flaws in their system. I rarely send out the direct hoplink. I send them to a page on my server which redirects to the clickbank site. This helps a bit. Overall they have been quite reliable. There are returns with any business. I asked for a refund on two products that I purchased myself on clickbank and they banned my ip address from ordering again! Actually a good tactic for merchants. We will give you your money back but do not abuse the priviledge.
