Arrow What makes a website sticky with Repeat Traffic?

Its been said that its easier to convert a repeat buyer to buy again from you than a first time visitor to your site.

What would you do to get repeat traffic to your site?

I've heard everything from create a poll for the site, a forum, a link exchange?

It depends on the site. Every site is different and needs something different to make it sticky.

You could try to start an opt-in list with a good auto-responder program. Offer something enticing as a free gift just for visiting your website. Once you have their name and e-mail address just send them updates of products and/or services you are offering. Just don't over do it. One or two e-mails a week are plenty. Anymore and it becomes annoying.

I have just written a quiz for neredesindostum and am going to send it out and see how it does as a viral. We have no other marketing strategy currently so any traffic we get should test this well.

Will let you know the results.
