Yes I would like to know the answer to this one too.

Is there a script you can include, which lets you know how many clicks another website has received from your own website?

Provided you have access to server logs, you can check them and analyse to get the necessary information.
Other possibility is to collect info from server variables (in case of dynamically generates pages like .php) - in php there is global variable $HTTP_REFERER which stores this data.

Yes thanks I have excellent stats but what I wanted was something I could include in, say an advert for another company, so that I can keep track of how many people click thru to the other company from that particular link.

Then the best solution for you should be some sort of adserver.
Not only you can track users who click on different forms of ads (text, image, flash as well, but you will have also all the necessary stats.
I use phpadsnew which is one of the best (in my opinion :)) open-source software of this type...

Default tracking

You can use a service like ours http://www.eztrackz.com or Hypertracker http://www.hypertracker.com. Both would allow you to create a tracking link on your site, it would track and then re-direct to the destination of the original link. Both ours and Hypertraker are services that you pay monthly for. You can also look at a stand-alone product called AdTrackZ that you pay for once, but have to install on your server.

I'm using free click tracking service
http://urllog.com
It has more features than many commercial trackers.

Default Tracking using URLs

Hi New
I'm not sure if this is what you were looking for but you could just use a special URL. You set it up like this http://www.mysite.com/index.html?newsite1
where you can replace anything after the '?' with any string you like, and it will still take your visitor to the site they are looking for.

You can use this method with php, html and htm files, but am not sure about .cfm (coldfusion)

Hope this helps
Rob

Default link tracking

Hi:

You've gotten many good responses to your inquiry, and I'd like to offer another.

At this site: http://shmyl.com/tydison you'll find not only unlimited trackers, but virtually all the tools you'll need to manage your online business includeing auto-responders.

It's not free, but then what is on the web? The price is certainly within reach considering how much it costs not to know what your links, and ads are doing.

Hope I've helped.
