What are the best ways to build member to a website?

I have a web site that I want to do a membership drive for. The site is called [url=http://www.entertainmentjuice.com]http://www.entertainmentjuice.com[/url. With my site writers can post entertainment stories and link them over to the blogs or web site.

I wanted to know what are the best way you guys have used to build up membership to a web site. Or if you have some suggestions that I could use for my site please let me know. I am open to all ideas.

I assume you are already getting traffic to your website. You need to offer something to make it attractive for people to join. Perhaps a newsletter that you can regularly send out to your members.
