Ok so I know about the majors; Google, Yahoo, MSN. I want to know if anyone has an experience utilizing any other networks besides those. Has your ROI been worth it? Does there appear to be click fraud? What are the min bids.
I'm looking for networks with low min bids on key terms like .01-.05. If anyone knows where there are networks that give you free credit to start promotion that is even better. I appreciate all feedback good and bad.

There's also Adleaf, which trades traffic for impressions. The more impressions you serve of their ads, the more times they will show your ads on their network. Though, I haven't had great results with this since most people put the block of ads below the revenue genrating ads they serve.

If you're in a niche market, you might consider budgeting some of your marketing budget toward a classified ad in a print magazine that targets your market.
E.g., a client that sold first aid kits placed classified ads (2-3 line text ads in the back of the magazine) in Soldier of Fortune. The ROI was much better than PPC mostly because it was directly targeting her audience. Unfortunately, PPC doesn't target your market.* I wonder how many internet companies really use marketing methods other than search engines. *I've not seen any PPC that allows you to serve your ads to a targeted audience other than the time of day or region. It must be possible because Microsoft Ads allow you to increase your PPC costs for ads served to males, females, age group, and income. If I sold women's clothing, I would love to be able to serve 100% of my ads to women in the upper age brackets (unless they were teen clothing).

One different way is to use ExactSeek.com. Instead of PPC you pay a flat rate for an ad. The big difference is that they only sell 30 spots for each key phrase and then rotate them. Their results are shown on over 200 search sites.
My ROI is great with them because the price is like $4 or less a month for an ad. The drawback is that the traffic is lower than the big guys. But I've seen it picking up recently. Great thing? No click fraud. It is also a great way to test your pages, keywords etc. If everything works well on Exactseek, it will definitly do great on google.

You should also look at StumbleUpon and Adbrite. StumbleUpon is only 5 cents per visitor and you can target down to your niche.
