Default Rocketboom: $80,000 per ad, $60,000 if I like it

At Saturday's keynote by Rocketboom's Andrew Baron at the Podcastr and Portable Media Expo, Baron said he'd just closed a deal for $80,000 for a week's worth of commercials on the site. But, he said, he'll knock off $20,000 if he likes it, and it matches his audience well.

He also said that Disney should be happy with an audience of 10,000 loyal viewers per offering, as the Web is moving to tightly targeted niche content.

What do you think of that?

Article here.

Default It's almost real...

I think it's fairly interesting, we're at a point where content is really getting focused at a very core market. I think that in the long term, and shocker on this one, there will be a way you'll be able to setup your own TV schedule, where you watch what you want from each station, and mix it into one specific station.

Now I realize that DVR gives you a bit of that ability, but I think it could be taken to the next level by content providers and create chanels with all CSI, or all Law & Order, and then focus the marketing to that particular client base.

It's going to become a tuned world with way too much input from us regular folk. In the end, we'll all stop realizing how to live, and get immersed in technology and human interaction will all but end.

Muahh haaa haa...
