I joined a bunch of social sites and added my most recent post. I thought it might catch fire as I will be in the studio audience for Dancing With The Stars on Wednesday night. With 35 million people watching the show, some must be digg-ers .

Saturday was my biggest day ever - 175 visitors, about a 25-40% increase over normal. Yesterday and today are up too. I posted to digg, del.cio.us, furl, spurl, stumbleupon, my yahoo, flickr, blogmarks and myspace. I can't tell which one is generating the action.

Not long ago you were just looking into and trying social linking out. That seems to have paid off fairly well with new traffic in a relatively short time.

Do you have webstats with your hosting, that are detailed enough to see who the referring websites are?

For anyone else interested in trying social linking and has a good candidate site, here is more information on social linking.

Social linking is spreading to all age groups and interests. It's another "digital gate" that most webmarketers just can't ignore.

I hope to have stats for you in a couple weeks. I have some problems with a redirect and hope to solve them soon. Right now, all I can say is that about 15-20% of my visits are to the redirecting site. It feels as if my google rank may helped a bit too by the links on the social pages

stumbleupon is now sending approx 500 visitors per month to my web site - and I am sure if your web site is really good you could get a LOT more than this..

Sorry - BIG correction needed - I get FAR fewer referrals from stumbleupon than I thought - I was including hotlinked images in my stats.. Sorry..
