Can we put articles on our site, and give credits?

Well i see many articles around, which i would like to put on my website for my visitors. I tried to contact the writer, however never got any response.

I was wondering if i can just put the article(s), and mention the appropriate credits with links.

I hope it is right to do so. please advice if anyone has had a not good experience by doing so?

If they mention somewhere that can be used giving them credits, it should not be a problem.

If not, you better contact them first.

In my sigline you'll see a link to my article provider website. It depends on where you are getting the articles.

If they are in an article directory then you are pretty safe to reprint them with all links intact.

You can read their tos for the website to be sure. But that is the reason people submit the articles to directories. To get webmasters like yourself to use them as content.

If you find an article on a website and see no tos or commons or anything about it, then yes, better to email the author.

I get emails all the time asking for reprint rights. Its an added precaution that some prefer to do.

In almost any case of intellectual work there is an implicit or explicit copyrighting of the work.

if you see this simple © anywhere on the site it is a explicit copyright, But even without it you are considering using someone else's labor for your benefit. ASK....always Ask. Taking someone elses intellectual work is wrong....even if is some cases it is technically not illegal.

Yes, unless the article has been submitted to an article directory for the explicit purpose of having it reprinted.

The terms of service for the article directory are sufficient.

It is best to read the TOS first. Normally for article directory, it allows you to put the articles in your site complete with their resource box intact.

If it is not state, best option will be asking the author.

RSS feed articles

Some sites may give a RSS feed that you are able to add to your site, and this can be worth checking for or asking about because these will be updated automatiically.

Generally users will not mind at all that you link to them, display their articles because this should help boost the Page Rank and Visitors to their site.

What kind of articles you are looking to put on your website? We have several of them posted by either ourselves or our demo testers at our PHPKB Knowledge Base software website.

You can use them for your website but you will need to keep a link to the article source URL of our demo section.

You can obtain lot of articles from articles directory with republish permission with the resource box of the author. Just do a search on search engine on ezine article.

thanks for all your replies guys. The site for which i am looking for articles is www.quickemailmarketing.com.

The site from where i want to put articles is email Labs or http://www.imediaconnection.com

The thing is i have tried to contact many of them. None have replied back.

No where on imedia i see TOS mention.

Imedia has articles which will really benifit the users of quickemailmarketing.com and i have had no luck contacting any of the writers.

They use feedburner to offer their rss feeds. Maybe you should ask the question to feedburner or find out their tos.

well i guess i shall just post the content on the site, with link back to imedia and the writer as well. shud not be an issue.

it only implies the use of the rss feed for the content. It shows an attitude of willingness, but if they send you a letter saying its a misuse, then you would have to remove it immediately.

Even though you proceed, I would still keep trying to contect them and get explicit permission.

I own an article directory myself (url in sig line) that contains well over 20,000 articles. Every single author agrees to reprint use before they can submit. Almost all article directories are the same. Like it was said before, just read their TOS.

The whole point for these authors is to get their articles reprinted and get those all important inbound links.
