everyone trying to optimize website by Onpage optimization and offpage optimization.
I want to know that is Forum posting helpful to improve link popularity???

Somewhat. Some forums don't show your sigs to spiders. Also, if the page you post on is offtopic the link is worthless.

Posting in forums will do you more good from other members clicking on your links then from them helping you in the SERPs.

Forums will not really help with link popularity since it is not creating any backlinks. It is however, helpful with increasing your content which will benefit your SERP rankings.

Plus on some forums they put 'no follow' to all links in the sig which also destroys the very idea linking boost from them.

Participation IMHO in a forum -- this one in particular -- is essentially a learning experience and, in due time, quite often a teaching one. And regarding this second point, it's been well said that you REALLY start to know a subject/topic once you begin to teach it.
If there are side benefits because people link to you, all to the good, and you will sometimes find (as I've been fortunate enough to do on more than one occasion) that one of your posts will turn up in response to a search engine query by people.
But most of all, come here to take part in a network of people who are trying (gainfully, I hope) to master the mysteries and intricacies of designing, promoting, and maintaining a web presence.

I'm not the only WPW member who has a great deal to thank for the benefits I've derived from our colleagues.
