Default How do I grab my markets attention?

Hi I'm wondering how I can reach a very specific age group! My site is designed for the 13 -25 age group! I'm doing great with signups for the 13 -18 yr olds but not so good with signups from 19 -25 yr olds! What kind of strategy could I use to grab the attention of this group! Any suggestions appreciated.

smeagher,

Great looking site!
Maybe you could try to do a little 'networking' at sites like MySpace. I'm pretty sure you can search for people by age group.

Very simple!

Create a separate website (domain) specifically designed for the older guys.
Otherwise it will be very hard.
Remember the laws of positioning in marketing.

Hope it helps

thanks everyone for the advice, yes a blog could work but not a seperate website .. I want everybody to hangout on the one community rather than having to maintain two. More tips welcome!!

Default 13 year olds don't hang with 25 year olds.

It's tough to create a site for 13 year olds that works for 25 year olds, different markets, different interests.

If you could incorporate more content that would aim at each age group, you might find that to work a little better.

It's tough as these people are at two different points in life, and won't mix much.

I'd aim for one, and perfect that, then worry about others.

my site is a social networking site so people tend to sign up and seek out their own age group so I don't think there is a conflict .. I think the site design could appeal to both markets .. I just don't know how to reach the older target ... that's my big problem at the moment!

Default Perhaps...

If you are intent on attracting both groups, then you'll need to get your site into the mix of the older age group. Get into other sites that interest them, and get in front of them.

Again, as I posted previously, you should focus on adding some deeper content that would be of interest to these people, help make he current user base feel welcome, and in turn they should drive their friends there.

I just started my site about 6 weeks ago. I don't have a lot money to invest in marketing so far all I've done is put out a press release and try to spread the word around Mypsace. The press release didn't do much. I'm also offering a prize [$500] to my members to sign up new members but becuase most of them are of a certain age [15-19], they're mostly signing up the same age category! My site is not really a content site so I can't really rely on having pages come up in google either. Could a blog targeted at 20-25 yrs olds work but how long does it take for a blog to really get noticed and what kind of content for the blog?
