Default NeuStep Walk-Through Technology

Hello All!

We have developed some new technology that is used to market space, property, and products, and we are looking for some advice from other marketing professionals.

It's called NeuStep Virtual Walk-Through Technology and has been given a scientific name as Active Virtual Reality (AVR).

It's main purpose is to showcase space, in other terms anything that a person could walk-though. In many recent cases businesses are using the technology to give prospective customers a preview of what they are interested in right over the web. Additonal information and samples can be found on the NeuStep website http://www.NeuStep.com .

We are all eager to hear additional input from other technological marketing professionals.

Well, what do you think!?

a) What's the different to, say, LivePicture?

b) it seems rather slow over a 6 Mbit DSL line.

"a) What's the different to, say, LivePicture?"

LivePicture is a stationary node. This means that you can't simulate a walk-through experience with it. All you can do is look around. NeuStep Streams in correctable 3D data so that the user can walk-through a precaptured space, and at anypoint look around just like traditional VR. You must use the arrows to experience the walk-through simulation. As you walk-though you will notice that you can grab the engine window and pan around just like traditional virtual reality.

"b) it seems rather slow over a 6 Mbit DSL line."

It could actually be either your computer or your connection. See the 3D NeuStep information streams into your RAM and is then rendered into the walk-through simulation. Depending on your available ram there could be some performance issues. However, keep in mind that the presentation runs excellent with a celeron 1.0 GHz with 768 MB RAM.

As for your connection, the engine is only on average 180kb, but the streamed information varies on the distance of the walk-through presentation.

I hope I was able to answer some of your questions.

Thanks!

The NeuStep Team
