Default Nervous about sending out a large amount of emails

I have been given a large amount of emails (12'000) and can have more if I like, but I am nervous about search engines banning us if I have my 3rd party emailling company (bCentral) send out this many emails. Any thoughts?

Nervous? No, I think you should be petrified!
Whether you end up being the victim of the Spam Cops or not, your bulk e-mail service could certainly be.
The very least you should do is to check with them. The names must be permission ones and I have difficulty in believing that the opt-ins are with you. Unless people have ticked in the Yes box on a highly related site to yours, they're unlikely to be expecting mailings from you. This will inevitably produce SPAM labelling and complaints.
'T ain't woith it!

Default You need to have an opt out link

e-mailing is wrong when used wrong and the laws need to be followed. Make sure that you provide an opt out link in your e-mail if you send them, never send e-mails every day to the same person but occasionally if done properly is no problem.

Of course make sure that your server is fine with that as most has daily limits as to how many e-mails can be sent.

I am quite sure 12,000 at one time is a no no but say 250 per day will no throw up any red flags as long you have a way for customer to opt out.

heck I recieve 300-500 e-mails a day and most go straight to the trash and of course that is the problem most e-mail do not get read.

Do I complain? NO

Usually people with sites of there own do not complain but individual are probably more likely to.

Default Thanks

We do use a third party to regulate our email sending. They send our emails out for us and each email has an opt out link. Once removed we can not put an email back on the list ever again.

I hope you are not using Expedite Media, (expeditemg.com) as they are responsible for a good percentage of the spam I receive.

Don't give up too easily, it's not that bad and can be quite lucrative.

I use these programs and have never had a problem.
I don't spam but have some large opp-in lists.
