Default Bulk Email Software

I send out vast quantities of bulk emails for various clients of mine. I have been using Mach Mailer, which is fine for small lists. As soon as I try and send more than 1000 mails at a time, I seem to get a very small portion of the mails going through.

The main error is "mail rejected: policy, quota exceeded".

I need to be able to send lists of 6000 email addresses at a time, so this is very frustrating.

Can anyone help or can you advise me of some other bulk email software that work very easily.

Regards
Jeanne

You need to work with the ISPs to allow your emails to get through. Try checking our www.deliverability.com from the Email Service Provider Coalition. You'll learn about best practices and how to deliver.

For a free option, try PHPList. It mails from your server and supports multiple mailing lists and templates, plus easy subscribe/unsubscribe features. I like the fact that messages are sent one at a time with the name of recipient in the "TO" line. . It's very slick.

Default Re: Bulk Email Software

Hi Jean

The problem with desktop programs is generally they will use the smtp server (outgoing mail server) of your own ISP. Your own ISP will have configured their system to prevent "abuse" which means that they will monitor things like multiple mails from one IP etc.

You may be able to get around this issue by fiddling with the config settings on Mach Mailer.

Your best bet is using ideally a Web based specialist email broadcast system, or at the least, a server based script.

Hope that his helps.

PS I am originally from Joeys.

Regards,
Kevin

I would be more inclined to use your own online mailing system then a mailer on someone elses server.

My programmer created an "Online Emailer" for my website which has been very good for sending bulk mailings, etc.

I have never had a problem sending via the Bulk mailer... to be honest, I don't know why.. I'm not up with the technical side of things.

The only problem I seem to have is people wanting to read the mailings. They sign up for them, but don't read them... probably think they're spam or something...... nothing unusual in this World :)

Perhaps talk to a programmer about getting your own Online Mailing system.. or if you want I can give you the details of mine and he can set you up with something cheaply.. either way :)

Cheers,
Amie
