Default New Press UK Press Release Site

Hi Everyone,

I have just put together a free press release site for the UK. You can find it here and please tell me what you think. www.freepressreleases.co.uk

I put it together because I was looking for a site like this to promote some of the companies we promote and thought that the more relevant content we get in each section the more it will help SEO.

If this grows into something that people find useful I will pull together a list of UK journalists and write a script to automatically send out relevant press releases to the right journalists. Obviously I will get the Journalists opt in first.

Regards

Mark Hammersley

Mark

Thanks for this post. I just registered on your site which was quick and simple. I have also submitted a press release which also looked simple. Only real problem I had was with the background colours on the submission boxes - it was really difficult to read black text against some of those dark backgrounds. I am using IE6.0

Hope the site works well for you

Default I know!

Yes I have seen that and I will fix it. The HTML form used to be white and now I have set it as grey somehow. Thanks for your comments!

Mark,

One remark. Login form fields on my browser are too close to the edge of your site. It is more esthetic, but I was affraid to submit something into them, thought the info might fall off the site :)

Registering right now.

Could you give more details on where exactly the press releases are sent.

Thks.

Just made the submission, Everything is nice, but I got puzzled to get this message after clicking the 'save' button:
Quote:
Thanks for your submission. Your submission will now be reviewed before being posted to the site.
You are not authorized to view this resource.
I do not seem to do anything wrong :(

Hi thanks for posting.

Yes the submission message does not mean you have done anything wrong, but I admit it is a little confusing. The software is telling you that your content will be reviewed before it is posted and that you are not authorised to do this yourself. I review all submissions before they go live as I want to make sure that the content is kept professional and I do not get link spammers just adding links.

Your previous question about who the press releases get sent to. Currently we do not send out the press releases as journalists tend to 'add to favourites' their interested catagories and look at them on site. If we get a big following in any area then I am sure I could write something that automoatically sent out press releases to the relevant opted in magazines. Thanks for the pointers.
