Default Directory site needs more marketing but how ?

Hi all

How can I make my directory more and more popular in the world of internet. For your information I am not using mal practices, I am doing regular optimization (no over optimization). I am maintaing good categories and sub categories. In my site I am having fair and good site submission guidelines too. We are having good editors who checks submitted sites throughly to detect whether any redirection or spammy techniques has been adopted or not. But still we need to gain more and more popularity which will definitely converts simple visitors(atleast by few %) to revenue generated visitors. I think more marketing needed. Can anybody suggest me that how can I make it possible.

Please help me.

i have a belgian directory for martial arts suppliers and everything that has to do with japanese culture.

I get almost all of my traffic out of Google. Therefore i wrote content for each category. Ok it's some work to be done, but it pays off.

I understand that if you have a lot of categories, this might be to much work. Anyway mine is rather small and specific, so i wrote the content. Content always does the job.

content is key. directories are basically blank pages with some text links. if order to have a quality directory, you will need to write contents for each and every category and even subcategories. it's a lot of work, but it will pay off. don't waste your money in driving traffic to your site. you won't be able to afford to bring enough traffic to build up a directory that you dreamed of.

What about making a forum (its structure can duplicate you directory) and give a vent off for people? They can post their ads there too.

Default ???

What is your site?

Put it in your signature so we could look at it and find out.

The easiest answer would be to find additional niches and target them with articles.

Another aspect would be to do the opposite of what you are doing right now.

Go to other forums and provide advice on the topics that your directory specializes in.

???? I hope that helps.
