Default Health Related Support Forums

My husband and I are using one of our domain names, one of our vBulletin board licenses, all the associated costs, plus my own time as tech support admin... to run a public online support forum for hepatitis c patients, caregivers, friends, and families.

We do not have hepatitis c, ourselves. We're doing this for other personal reasons.

You see, we run a life insurance brokerage, specializing in "high risk" cases. Every day, we work with folks that are suffering from hepatitis c, cancer, life-threatening asthma and respiratory diseases, Crohns Disease, ulcerative colitis, seizure disorders, heart disease, and more.

You can imagine how heartbreaking this work can be. One of our recent clients is a mom that needed a policy for her six-year old son, who has cancer... just so she can give him a proper burial, when his time comes. There's so much suffering in this world, it can make our heads spin.

So, we decided to try offering support and information that might improve quality of life, now, for at least some folks. My skills as a webmaster and as a vBulletin admin are well utilized in this project. This is the best way I could think of, to do the most good for many people.

Please, if anyone can help with a link, it would be tremendously appreciated. Our forum is still very new and we have no Internet presence. All help with make a big difference to us. We'll gladly reciprocate.

Please use the following link info, if you can. Many thanks!

Page Title: Hepatitis C Support Forums

I've bookmarked your forum and we'll start adding it to our chat and discussion board listings.

We list chat and discussion boards by topics, so your board will be listed in more than one individual topic, giving you maximum exposure.

Please feel free to link to our main page at:

With the program that I'm doing, I think this will go well in my blog. If you will place a link on your site to my home page.

I just wanted you to know that I posted a link to your site on my blog. I've been told that it carries more weight that a plain link. I didn't use the description you supplied but I figure if you read what I had to say, you may forgive me for this oversite.

Go here to see it if you want to. http://www.pagesforchildren.com/blogger.htm

Thank you everyone for your links and responses! :)

For some reason, I'm not getting notification emails, when someone responds. So, I checked to see what's up and, wow, look at the response!

I'll get busy adding your links to our site. Anyone have a preference as to how you're added? Any particular page? Any particular description? I don't even have a resource page up, yet. So I'm open to suggestions.

Maybe a resource forum (on the board) would work? Would you guys like to join and start a thread for each of your resources? Just tossing ideas out there. :-)

Hi again,

Okay, I've got this resources page set up. Please let me know if you'd like me to change your listing, in any way.
http://www.communityonthe.net/resources.shtml

Chatmag, I couldn't find our link on your site, though. Could you please point me to it? Thanks.

Linker, thanks so much!

Gary Golden, I didn't include your site, because I think you meant your message for Chatmag?

ImaDunce, the blog was a good idea. Thanks for doing that!

larryc47, thanks for the link!

If you visit our forums, you'll note that our focus now includes activism and awareness, in the hope that our site can help improve the health care system for everyone. Here's a quote that sums up my feelings about grass-roots activism.

Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.” Vista M. Kelly

I don't want to speak too soon, but our future plans now include reaching out to US government representatives, possibly involving them in an interactive manner on the forums. Imagine what people can do, together! This could be awesome!
