Default Corporate Accounts

I would like to target the corporate world. I sell gift baskets. Corporate would be great they send gifts to: employees, customers, sales team ect.
My question is this: Once I find the companies. Should I call the HR dept. and ask for the name of the person who handles the companies gift giving needs? Then mail to that person 7 times and make a few follow up calls in between the mailings? I do believe the company has to see your name at least 7 times before they will order.
Am I going in the right direction?
Suggestions please....
Thank You

HI Savannah,

Welcome to WebProWorld !

I think you're off to a great start.
Once you've got the name of the person ...

It could get a bit pricey, depending on how many you do, but instead of sending a letter/brochure the first time, what about sending one of your gift baskets ??

You're right about the 7 times, 'cause your letter / brochure ends up in a drawer.
Can you imagine the expression on that person's face when you show up with a basket with their name on it?
Not too mention, this person will want to show everyone what they just received.
Even sitting on their desk people are going to ask.

I used to own a catering company, and ever time a new business opened up in the area, instead of just sending a brochure/letter, we sent them lunch !!

An attention grabber for sure !

Default Thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Yes, you are so right about the free basket! I have thought about that for the LARGER companies such as J&J ect. With a nice company imprinted ribbon! :0)
I do send balloons, card and small gift for their birthday. Also, for Christmas I sent small gifts. They were a BIG hit!
I get the stuff cheap. I own a hallmark, and dollar stores also.
Any suggestion on my 7 mailings?
I am thinking:
Intro letter, follow up call, flyer, post card, rotary card from my company, coupon, then X Mas flyer.
PS~ Any marketing book suggestions?
Thanks again.

Default Corporate contact

Hi Savanah,

I think it would be a better idea to get in touch with the people who actually do the ordering for Corporate accounts and that is usually the Executive Assistant for these types of products. Set up a relationship ideally with the Executive Assistant to the President, CFO, CEO or someone else in top management. Usually they are asked to send something or asked what would be appropriate to send without much restriction to who they order it from as long as it meets their requirements. If they like your product and service they will recommend you to other Exec. Assistants in the organization. Getting in touch of the Assistants is a lot easier than trying to get names of the top brass. I hope you do well.

Theresa
