Default The Wonders of Forums

I am trying to get people to come to my forums and post, but I can't seem to attract anyone. My friends and I post everyday and provide many topics for discussion.

People visit the forums, and we have traffic of around 400 unique a day, but no one signs up or posts anything. The traffic is from Google for the most part, what can I do to build a community?

My forums can be found at: EDIT ctabuk explanation next post. any suggestions would be appriciated.

Sorry I had to take down the URL, if anyone is interested they will PM you. I took a quick look at the forum and, well how can I put this. It's full of profanities ! Like I say, if people want to find it they will PM you.

You should add few good and fresh contents in your forum adding with some news articles, current topics and few interesting topics, I hope the visitors shall come back and will start posting. You should send email especially those members who are not visiting/posting in your forum stating that you've added some new features.

I found it very frustrating as it is quite easy for the current members to become bored and leave. I ended up giving a couple of the regulars some Authority (not Moderator) but named a forum after them such as "Steve's Modern Bike Forum" This got them very keen and they started putting up new post which encouraged others to join. I also made some of the Forums very specific to the particular members interest. At one stage I offered free promotional product to our existing web site members to join the forum. You need to make it community based. Some of our Forum members recently got together and organised a Z Power BBQ. They were some 3000Klm away. Now the forum is gaining momentum. We recentley had 164 of our 330 members on line at one time.
