Default Entireweb email blast...

Hey everyone,

I just received an email from EntireWeb. As you might know, they're a search engine company. They have a deal going around about sending an email campaign (I create it, they send it) to 330,000+ of their members (webmasters, businesses, designers is their focus) for $500 (normally $1000). On the statistical-end, the ROI would work for my content-management system that I want to resell. And, they are opt-in lists (since you need to add your business email to be listed in their search engine) that are semi-targeted. So, do you think it's worth the price? Or, am I missing something (a spam technique I don't know about)? Thanks!

We Mods cannot say, Yes use this Company or use that one, it would be unprofessional. But I have my own forum and I know how much it costs to send out a massive mail shot (We don't by the way)- It is peanuts and what most of these promotion Companies do is send out via a free service, gmail or whatever, I would guess that 99.9% will end up in a 'spam' box. Now I could be wrong. But why not ask for genuine feedback from people who have used the service before? If you have nothing to hide, then they should give out that info.

Good idea. I've emailed them....It'll be interesting if they email me back. My guess is that you are probably right.

The thing that just got me was 330,000+ SEMI-TARGETED emails from OPT-IN clients.

Can usually be interpreted as "our revenues are down".

"Semi-targeted" is another red flag - I can't even think of a definition for that one.

In looking over their site, I couldn't find any mechanism for creating these "opt-ins", and even more confusing, I couldn't find any information on unsubscribing. Their privacy policy page doesn't even address receiving/unsubbing from any communications you may receive from them. I'd think that should be pretty public. Take a look:
