I live about 400 yards from the Stockwell underground station where London police shot a man dead this morning. It's being speculated that police had been pursuing the man before he entered the station, that he may have had a bomb strapped to him, and that he may have been involved with the attempted bombings yesterday.</p>
When I take the tube to work, I choose between Stockwell and Clapham North stations, depending on which lines are running smoothly. This morning I chose the latter, and was standing on the Clapham North platform at the very moment the shooting occurred on the Stockwell platform. ('Sliding Doors,' anyone?) Both south London underground lines were immediately halted, and I returned home. Police have advised those in my neighborhood not to go outisde, and there are police helicopters circling in the air above my flat.</p>
I don't believe I'm in any immediate physical danger. But I would like to point out that I asked Jupiter to transfer me to Germany, not to the United Kingdom.</p>
