Default Can somebody please tell me....

Please tell me where I can get good quality leads to purchase? How do you know that the list or leads are not fake and of merit? What do you look for in companies that sell these names and addresses? I am thinking of this approach with in order to get more customers to visit www.theflyfone.net and hopefully they will be convinced to purchase a phone. Ideas and suggestions are very much welcomed.

Default don't buy

From everything I have read, never buy a list. Check this article out, http://spam.abuse.net/marketerhelp/

A good alternative might be to sponsor a reputable newsletter. That way you're kind of renting their legitimate list.

Also, we use autoresponders on our site. When someone subscribes to the autoresponder (mostly business phone user and admin tips), there is a note that we may contact them via E-mail. Each autoresponder also includes information to lead them back to our site.

Hope that helps,

Default You didn't say email.

I noticed you didn't say email, simply addresses. We buy our lead lists from InfoUSA (mostly because they're right down the street, but they have some good info as well.) We have had great success in sending things out to those lists and buy one about every 6 months or so.

If you were talking email, see the previous post by MaineWeb.

Default Leads are a result of cultivation

There are an enormous number of direct mail marketing companies that can help you put together a set of mailing lists based upon your specific demographic requirements. They have it down to an artform - really they do. The deeper your demographic (number of qualifying attributes) the more expensive the information, but....

Pricing for the lists has actually dropped even though the quality of the information being sold is much better than ever before (thanks to the internet). Then, you also need to take into consideration average returns, etc., but there is already gobs of stuff published about that world.

I don't condone Email "bulk" marketing and early (personal) experience says that the address lists sold by anyone are suspect.

Default Hast does not pay

Ok guys I messed up. Thank you for the advice. It so happen that on the same day I posted this I bought a email list very cheaply and also put an ad on a FFA site, big big mistake in my life, I receved over 200 junk mails in 3 hrs and I am still awaiting any meaningful results. I know this business has the potential to take off. Every night I have to pray for patience, guidance and new strategies. I am rightfully confused and ask myself, who to trust, would this ad program really bring 500 000 visitors to my website.
I am surprise myself. My site is number 1 at Google.com for the search term flyfone. Where is the money? I have to remind myself that success will not come over night. I'll keep hanging on and trying new things.

If flyfone anything that people use? I've never heard of it before myself. Flyfone showed 4 searches in the past 60 days, and flyphone showed none. Doesn't seem like a term I'd choose to target. There aren't too many competing on that term either, so it must not be all that popular.

For comparison, internet phone shows 1499 searches in the past 60 days, while free long distance is showing just 261.

To make money, you'll probably need to target different terms.

Brian.

Default Keywords

I agree with Brian. You will need to target better keywords than "flyfone".

Try different keywords and monitor how they perform.

Remember, every successful business is a journey through "trial and error".

Default Wordtracker.

I used wordtracker for those numbers. That's only out of a small sample of searches, but it gives good info for comparisons. "flyfone" just isn't a term anyone is really searching for. Internet phone is searched quite a bit, free long distance is much less but still searched a reasonable amount.

I'm sure there are a ton more terms that people would use, it's just up to you to find those and forget about ranking for flyfone. Until you get a brand established, it won't do you a whole lot of good. It's taken us 6 years to get to the point that people are searching for our company name on a regular basis.

Default How do I remain on top?

Hmm, guys now how do I retain that top spot? It does not have to be no1 just on the first page. I have been doing some brain storming and looking up my competition and I have few keywords. I cannot sit around and wait. I need to to get out that name out there to the masses. I have been told on occasions that it takes money to money. What are some of the ways I can promote my site without breaking the bank?
