Default Recommendations for a one-time email blast?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a company to use for an one-time email blast? Here’s what I need:

1. It’s for a regional newspaper, so I need a list of email addresses from specific zip codes. It would also be nice to be able to narrow the list to people interested in news – but that’s not crucial.

2. The company I use for hosting won’t allow sending an email to more than 100 people at once, so I can’t do the blast myself, but I want the email to look like it came from one of our email addresses.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Are you looking to send emails out to your own customer list or to buy a customer list?

Here is what we are currently looking into. A lot of names and not to expensive. I know they can select states, I don't know if they can or can's select zip codes.

Good Luck

Direct Marketing online is not the same as Direct Marketing offline.

What's the difference? Simple really, "thou shall not send unsolicited bulk email, otherwise known as spam."

Oh sure, you can send UBE, providing you can find an internet access service willing to allow you to use bandwidth for this purpose.

Guess what, sure as shooting fish in a barrell, you will find:

* Your IP address and domain blacklisted; and

* Your web host all over your back side for using spam to advertise your web site (meaning your web host will likely pull the plug).

Why? Because sending UBE causes harm to people. In what way? Unlike the offline world, the expense of handling UBE is dealt with by the receiving networks and the ultimate recipients. People don't like it when marketers send UBE.

In your case, you will hurt your regional newspaper's reputation and may well cause folks to unsubscribe.

Now, if you are interested in finding ways to do this the "right way," great ... there are lots of available resources. I and many others will gladly point you in the right direction.

But not by sending spam, as that is exactly what you are proposing to do.

John

That's exactly what I'm interested in - finding a way to do this the right way. So please point away!

I'm doing the research because I have no experience in email blasting.
