Default Making the most out of my marketing budget

Hi,

I am hoping to gain some opinions from you. I have a very limited marketing budget (less than £200) initally and am aiming to get the most return for my money.

The website is a subscription based service so ideally I would like to increase traffic to the site.

Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Thanks
Lisa

Link exchanges are free and if you use good relevant reciprocal links they might be an advantage to you.

Also, I use Overture to help promote my site.
I have 40 keywords and keyword phrases listed with them and if you choose well you can find several for 10 cents per click. Overture has a minimum clickthrough per month charge of $20 but if you choose your keywords well you can get a good return for your money. When bidding make sure you are in the top 3 spots and if your budget doesnt allow you to be at the top 3 then find a diffent keyword. some can be as much as $4 or $5 per click so I would recommend choosing wisely.

Also, you can look for related directories to the services your site promotes and get listed in them. several are free of charge.

I hope that can help you.

Some of the best ways to get free publicity are through press releases and writing articles for others to publish--and neither costs you anything. Since you have a subscription based web site, I assume you have content you feel people will be willing to pay for. Use some of your expertise to write about it and offer your articles to email newsletters and other publications.

Don't forget about your local newspaper. Although the print version may not reach your target market, most newspapers now put their articles online--getting you a good link and worldwide publicity.

Start a blog. Blogs get spidered often and will get you ranked well in the search engines for the keywords you use in the title. Post regularly to your blog - at least once a day - and submit your blog to blog directories.
