Help with WallStreet.us

Hi, I own WallStreet.us it's been up for about a year as a financial directory, gets about a little over 200 visitors per day and about 5,000 visitors a month. WallStreet.us is listed in Google.com under the keywords Wall Street directory and wall street financial directory in the first and second pages. I need to know how to go to the next level, how to bring in more traffic.

Does anyone have any advice for me? I know there must be something more that someone in this forum cna advice me to do. I can't be doing everything right. So please look at it and let me know what I can do to bring in more traffic.

I took a look at your site: Wow, that's a lot of concise information. I'm going to ask the simple question though...What are your selling? Advertising? In other words, you want more traffic into our site, like we all do, but is it like an online magazine? Do you make money off of referrals?

Here is a simple idea to garner more traffic. I am going to assume that you know quite a bit about the financial markets? You should set up a newsletter signup for whatever your specialty is or even a daily digest of financial news. Develop an opt in email list. You can place ads through email so this could be a revenue source.

Also, make sure you go into other financial sites and forums and join in the discussions and leave your site name. You can do this anonomyously (sp?) also.

You have lots of links going out, but when I checked your links coming in, you have very few. You need to have some of the sites that you promote, in turn promote your site. Your site has so much financial information, that I would suggest perhaps creating a financial newsworthy certificate that can be given to other financial sites if they so request, i.e. "This site certified as a "key financial resource" from www.WallStreet.us, the key financial directory". Have little banners made and for the privlige of being assigned this certificate, make sure they place the certificate on their first or main page with a link back to your site. Target smaller finance or money advice sites. Make sure the sites receiving are quality sites.

This would be a start. Inward links are the key.

Hi, Yes I am selling advertising, also with the AdSanse from Google they are doing better and better every month, now it's about $400 a month and hope to get it up with more traffic. I'm not making money off of referrals, but maybe in the future as I get bigger and more traffic. Thanks for the idea of going to financial forums to leave my URL I also like the news letter idea as this gives me a another way to advertise. I will work on link in's more as this do take some time, but will start in the year year.

You're going to laugh when I share this with you.

If you are making $400 per month. You need to speak with one of the 24 hot dog stands along Wall street.

The lines on a daily basis are 7 to 12 people deep.
Somebody will eventually call you. You will be surprise. I don't think I can compare this to Miracle Mile name.

He's in Florida so talking to the vendors may be tough.

I actually see a couple of my sites on your directory... you need to develop a signature and start posting in the financial forums that will drive traffic... the more you contribute the more your will become know.

You could also start a forum of your own or better yet start a blog.. the search engines love blogs.

Yes! The hot dogs will not be easy from Florida, Let me know which web sites are your's also if you like them listed in another catagory and if you have other financial or bussiness web sites that you like me to list for you.
Also if you can link back to WallStreet.us it can help me alot. I will start on the financial forums, and will look into blogs. I think WallStreet.us will grow into a good size financial information web site in the next year as I drive more traffic and add more information that everyone is looking for. Doe's anyone know what is the best way to let everyone on Wall Street know about WallStreet.us?

Okay the best way to get in touch with Wall Street people is do a thorough search of comapnies based in the area and get the email addresses and send mail to them about free advertising. If enough get through to the right people you will get some links and word of mouth will help from there.
Your big hurdle is getting quality traffic.

I will do this too as a one time e-mail of not just New York based financial and business companies, but world wide financial and business companies as WallStreet.us is getting about 30 to 40% of traffic from other countries. I think that once's a visitor go's to WallStreet.us and if they like it they will never forget the domain name WallStreet.us that's the advantage that I have. So if you own anymore financial or business web sites let me know, also if you can anywere on your web sites that are listed on http://www.WallStreet.usadd a link back it will help me alot.
