Default strategies for marketing a website

Hello,
I have already posted this message, I did not get many replies.I am reposting it.
I request you to put some thoughts, how market a website that is targeted to finance professionals.

The website is to sell e-learning courses for finance professionals. We offer the courses through our website. We have shopping cart available in website to facilitate purchasing. The website URL is www.kesdee.com
Till now i tried to market the website through listing in various directories and submission to search engines. We also launched few online press releases.
Suggest me what else can be done.

To start, I never buy from anyone whose web site traps me as yours does. I generally don't even give advice to people whose home page traps me on their web site. When I can't get out by using my back button, then that's a web site that goes on my black list never to visit again.

Second: your home page says nothing about what you are offering. The first questions I have when I go to a web site is, "What are they offering? Is it what I want to buy? Why should I buy from them?" Your home page answers none of these questions.

I do have to agree about not trapping visitors. Don't do it ever.

Your site without the flash is about 100Kb. Not too bad, but after adding the flash in, users on dial up have to wait quite a while to see any relevant content. We're talking about over 30 seconds to see the content you are looking for. This is way too long, and I would have left your site a long time ago.

Also, over 1/2 the users still don't see flash. You need to give an option for non flash users, so they too get to see your website content. You have several flash objects so non-flash users have a really big gap in what they can see. Use the <noembed> tags to make non-flash user content. This also includes the SE's so it can also help your rankings.
