Re: Video Email Marketing
I do agree on one point that Email Marketing is quite an effcient way to build a business but i wouldalso like to add here that if this is unchecked it may also backfire .Many people do not like recieving mails from sellers whom they do not already know . and if one is persistant then the Buyer eventually gets irritated and would not like to buy a product even if it may interest him .
I could be wrong . but that is the way i feel .

Email Tools
There is a site that I have come across recently
http://www.contentsmartz.com/
This is the site that has a lot of email tools.
But its my humble request that don’t ever get into email harvesting as this may bring defame to you and your site.

How to get around Email Servers
From experience, if AOL detects a bulk of emails are sent to their servers, they will block the server that the emails are sent from. Which this could be an ISP's address, where they've traced the IP back to.
What are the techniques in getting around this blockage?
Does anyone know why mails sometimes filter thru to hotmail, and other times not?
I just cant work out the algorithm behind all these servers.

I definitely agree that e-mail marketing is a powerful technique. During the last years the use of Spam filters has added some stones in the way.
From this perspective it is crucial to offer a real value in a marketing campaign and not just sales-letters. People do not like to be bombarded with sales messages every day, thus there is the need to get a good mix between real, valuable content and sales messages. I.e. you can feed your Newsletter with great articles extracted from common sources (GoArticles.com,EzineArticles.com).
Your newsltter should be als complain to the Can Spam Act from 2003 in order to avoid SPAM complains (i.e. you should publish your real mailing address, not only the unsubscribe link)
Of course, you should only e-mail people who have requested information from your website. This lead to the interesting chapter of "lead capturing" and "bulding your Opt-in" lists.
An other technique (but not so effective) is to Host FFA Websites to obtain leads. The users agreed to receive mails and thus, it is not spam. Also here you can apply Lead-Capture techniques to build your own Opt-in List. You can find additionl information about the mentioned techniques here in my website.
Good luck!

Customers privacy is to be valued. As mentioned earlier if customers wish toreceive certain updates with regard to specific subjects which interest them or are relevant to their hobbies, then they would like to peruse through the email. Emails with info on sports, movies & technical news would interets me.

For a couple of months now we've been working on a product that allows novice webmasters to add a mailing list to their website. You basically just copy and paste some HTML code which puts a box on the webmaster's website for people to enter their email address in order to subscribe. Things like email verification, auto-(un)subscribe, etc. are all done for you. I'd be very interested to hear what members think of the product.
Oh, and before I forget... the web address is http://www.aardvarkmailinglist.net :)
Thanks

Towards the end of 2003 I sent out about 200 e-mails advertising my services as a freelance technical writer. The e-mail was "personal" and was advertising my services. On the whole my e-mail was well received. I suspect that if I had been trying to sell a digital product that people may have reacted differently. As a result of my e-mail marketing campaign I got work almost immediately.

I agree with you all.
Email marketing is the powerfull way to promote your business.
But I do have some trouble in gathering some subscriber from my site. Most peoples would not join to your newsletter coz they do aware about SPAM and SCUM out there.
I think this was the main problem.

eMail Marketing as we know it is DEAD, but there is HOPE
Considering an eMail marketing approach to making money?
If you've been on the internet more than 6 months
you already know less than half of your emails are getting
through and less than that are being opened and fewer still are
being read.
Here's what TIME Magazine says about eMail...
According to Time Magazine, "At the four major e-mail providers -
MSN (including Hotmail), Yahoo, Earthlink and AOL, between 40-70%
of all incoming email is killed upon arrival at their mail servers."
Here's quote from Information Week...
"When I say 'significant,' I don't mean a few. I mean something like 40%,
or even more in some cases. And I'm not talking about losing junk mail.
I'm talking about the loss of totally valid, non-spam/non-junk E-mail."
E-mail Is Hideously Unreliable. By Fred Langa, InformationWeek
The most recent post below relates directly to eMail marketing...
http://www.rss-email-autoresponder.c...il-publishing/
This post really spells out what's going on with RSS...
http://rss-email-autoresponder.com/r...&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
I've been on the net for many years and I was about to give up
trying to keep the lifestyle I've developed because of the dramatic downturn in
eMail response. Now I have hope that my ventures will prosper more than ever
before because of RSS and how it is evolving to make a significant impact
on the way we do business on the net.
We will either keep up with technology, or not!

Folks may want to check out the whitepaper on email deliverability on our site.
Also, something on what to look for in an email platform.
Hope these help.

To better tune your emails to get past "Spam Filters", you might try "Email Advisor"
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...or&btnG=Search
I've used it, and it does help.

Oops, I didn't check every single link but of those I checked (four), they are all broken. I realize this was posted a long time ago, but if it's going to be a sticky, any chance you could locate the text of those articles or find them on the Internet Wayback Machine?
The trouble with linking to articles is they tend to disappear on you.
