Problem with reciprocal checkers

I have tried several linking programs and link exchanges and have found that if you do not have the same software program as the one you are linking to, your link will not be localed on your website by that particular program. What this does is, it prevents links from being exchanged.

What I've gone to is a simple program that lets visitors enter their own link information without a reciprocal check. Then once a week I use a third party link checking program to check for links to my site to verify reciprocity. Yeah, it is a bit more work, but at least my visitors can place their links on my site without any hassles from my software.
