Default The Inexpensive Spurt Treasure Hunt

Hi there ... I'm looking for an inexpensive spurt ... I'm already spurting in Google, FindWhat and Links2Go/GoGuides (which was free to start because I had registered somewhere like with Jayde or AskJeeves or something). I'm also in JoeAnt, InCrawler, SurfSafely, and even ChildSafe. Yahoo! was indexed via their backdoor policy (back when they used Google - I'm actually #2 for my primary keyword phrase).

My link campaign has got over 300 backlinks and is structured fairly tightly. And I review/add/reject daily. So that aspect is well in motion. I've also got a well-established blog record. Even DMOZ has one of my pages indexed.

I'm figuring about $25/month or so or more for this little spurt ... give or take -- I figure it should at least add a few new views/throughs.

And I've heard it doesn't matter much, but I think it'd be nice to know how to grow in Alexa's rankings too... For instance, linking helps in Google, what helps in Alexa?

For that matter, what helps in MSN?

Would Looksmart be worth looking into?

Guess I've got my feet wet in a few ponds, and figured it'd be nice to check out some others as well. The one-time fees are nice (if they're affordable), but it seems the monthly/ppc are more manageable.

A burst. Surge. Quick (yet sometimes and potentially temporary) growth.

For example, with AdWords (and most, if not all PPC), once you have your ad up and approved, you can begin seeing results in days...

Default of that Spurt

I thought it was some new wcomputer term....hey I am 43 and just figured out what bling bling means....my 25 yr old developer keeps me updated. Hey here are some old fashion ideas....I list these because I can not get any quick spurts without laying out the cash here goes....
Try to get people that are already buying from you to continue!

Do you put marketing info in with every shipment?
Do you call or email every account after the sale?
Have you sent out a email balast to all of your customers?
have you on the above three sent a coupon to them for their next purchase?
Do you answer the phone when somebody calls from the net w/questions?

OK it's all marketing 101....but most of us want more and more unique vistors on their site instaed of focusing on the ones that are already there. I ahve 5k uniques a week...If i can only get 15% to convert to a sale at an average of $100 that would be a revenue stream of 340k per month......

If you find the golden bullet let me know!

Pete

Those are always great reminders. Sometimes it helps to go back to the beginning. And sometimes you need someone to tell you out loud (so to speak).

I was actually just thinking about starting up a monthly newsletter (okay, pre-marketing 101), and sending a sign up invite to all my previous customers. I've always had a problem with what to put in one, but if it's monthly, I should always have list of new product arrivals.

Guess I was looking for one of those inexpensive magic bullets myself. :)

Thanks Pete. Great reminders. Great thoughts.

Time to keep reading back on past threads in this forum ;)
