I'd be interested to see your release. PR Web works great for most webmasters, but only in certain business verticals. Here is a press release tip - don't rely on PRWeb alone to drive much traffic to your site or get you noticed in the media. You need a consistent, creative PR campaign to make your mark with online Public Relations.

There is also the option of link exchanges.
They are usually free and can get your site known.

Hi Bharati,

I've looked at your site, and though you have some interesting products, I think the value proposition is missing in a big way. The "why" seems to be missing almost completely, and from the very second I step onto your page, I'm assaulted with technical details and a storefront.

It might make sense to build a simple portal page in front of your current sales page that provides a stepping-off point for each product, with some clean graphics and sales-centric copy. Something to get the potential user drooling ot find your "secrets".

Another nice addition might be an ROI calculator (you can build one using javascript, or pick up a script at http://www.hotscripts.com for a few shekels). Something that explains that, now that we're using a more open platform, you are less encumbered by, say, an Oracle hotshot who will cost you $XXX per minute to employ, and even then, you're still leasing their proprietary framework.

It would be valuable to get a non-myopic slant on this thing... helpful to you, and probably much more effective for your potential clients. Yes, if I was a pure geek LOOKING for this sort of application, i might dive right in., But until that time, you're going to need to build a sales process and use all of the working techniques to really move your works.

One classic example is TripWire ( http://www.tripwire.com ), another open-source product that has done extremely well (the co-founder and past Chairman and I ran a struggling business for half a decade before he embarked on Tripwire, so I have a deep respect for Wyatt Starnes and him making TripWire what it is today). Wyatt added REAL, passionate marketing to the product, dummed-down the copy, created a viral marketed giveaway (the Tripwire Intrusion Map) and built a community on their product. And it was a FREE, Open-Source app!

The company now does over $15 million annually (after only 5-6 years or so) and is profitable and a leader in its market.

Now it's your turn. Best of success to you, and go get yourself a partner who is an evangelist (and read Guy Kawasaki's phenomenal book "The Macintosh Way", along with Tom Peter's "In Pursuit of WOW!", so you feel comfortable living with a marketer strapped to your side).
