site ranking info & keyword help appreciated

Hello Web Experts!
I was wondering what could be done about getting this site ranked higher? I've minimized keywords to only what I feel are the relevant ones and increased the title headings to be more keyword friendly.

I prefer text links to images. That being said...

Take recipes for example.

Make your alt text on that image to be "soap recipes"

and make your title on the recipes to be "soap recipes" or whatever you are trying to target. Don't confuse SE's by burying your keywords 15-20 characters in like that.

Also you want to repeat that keyword (don't spammify on it, just accentuate it) a few times on the page as well using your h1-3 tags as necessary. And getting incomding links to that page would help too.

one thing you should fix is your <head> tags they dont include your meta tag data making it hard or impossible for search engines to find...try to build up some more inbound links from other relevant sites using your keywords in the titles of the inbound links that will help more than anything and help you get on your way to building up your online presence

You need more links with your key phrases in the anchor text. Anchor text is king on Google.

Thanks for replying with such helpful info. I can't believe my <head> tags were wrong on my index page as well as a few others! Just fixed the problem.
Will try to do more with text links.
