Link Exchange websites

I have a subscription to a link exchange company. I have read that using such sites can actually lower your pr. Is this true? What type of link exchange services can be used. Any suggestions??

shesarainbo having inbound links can never hurt your PR. Search engines know you can not control who links to your site. However having too many outbound irrelevant links that could have a negative effect on your site. Look at the many link farms and try to find any with a decent PR

Look for related sites that are spiderable, use html links on their link exchange pages, have under 50 links on those pages and are willing to exchange links.
