Purchasing links

Just a quick question. Has anyone purchased a link to another website through auctions such as Linkadage. I'm new at this and need links. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hi steve,

I don't know much about purchasing links through auctions but I would be interested in exchanging links with you.
I read, I believe on someones post in web pro world, that the best way to increase your links is to see who is linking to your competitors and ask them for a reciprocal link. So I looked at all the backward links of my competitors and started contacting them. It seemed to work pretty well. I went from a 0 page rank to a page rank of 4 within a month's time frame.

Hi - last thing could change the anchor text...right now it says Oregan mortgage....could change that to Oregon home loans?
