20k page views per day is not enough

Started in 2001. The site has been reviewed in major media like UPI, The Washington Times, and on C-Span.

I hired SEO company to help me out - they got me from 6/10 to 8/10 ranking (though I suspect I would have gotten to that point in time anyhow).

My site is indexed constantly by news.google.com.

But my current traffic of 20k views per day is not enough! I need 5x that to quit my full time job.

I need help, but not sure where to go or what to do exactly.

Is this your page rank?
Do you have particular keywords that you target? If so how do you rank for them?
If you are already ranking well for searches then it may be that you will need more content to acheive your aims.
Obviously very hard to say given the limited info provided, there could be thousands of ways to improve your numbers.

I show the pr as 6 not 8. You are going after too many different key words in your title. If you need to increase traffic there are a 100 ways to do that. From banner ads, search engines, press releases and on and on.

I like your site very nice.

You need to know how to use your traffic.
If I had that much traffic I would be a millionaire by now :))

Thanks Janeth. Actually, as of last night my google page rank was 8, but I guess they are reindexing and my site got dropped to 6. That smarts; I lost a nice sale because of it...

I release new content pretty much everyday - usually around 10 articles. All my new content is considered "news" or "opinion" and is indexed by news.google.com - and sometimes appears on the homepage of news.google.com.

Last month one of those articles pulled over 100,000 page views in a 24 hour period. If I got that much traffic everyday I would be living in Maui.

I would be willing to hire a consultant to help me if they could really do the job of figuring out how to significantly increase my revenue. As it is I maintain my site before and after work, and spend the rest of my time out of breath and gasping for air...

Oddly enough, google rejected my website for adsense - and were unable to offer a reasonable explanation beside "better luck next time."

I don't have any untoward content on the website - no off-color words, no nudie picts or anything like that. My site is strictly news and opinion about mainstream politics and social currents.

I do not discriminate in any way against any group; writers for my website include people of all ethnic backgrounds and either gender.

I do think sometimes that people who already have a particular political agenda will go into a political website and immediately have a knee-jerk reaction - they can't help but impose their prejudices.

The decision on the part of someone at google not to include my website as part of adsense could be construed as political discrimination.

In fact, I submit to you that 'political discrimination' is the only viable explanation!

Oh, well.

BTW- if you can figure out how to make me a millionaire with my current traffic, I promise to share it with you... ;-)
