Link Management Software Needed for Multiple Sites
I have a client who is managing a slew of multiple, related sites and needs a software solution to keep track of links between the sites and between the sites and outside sites. Most of the software solutions mentioned in this forum's sticky are for reciprocal linking and many of the solutions are also for building a link directory.
We're looking for something to keep track of the links (who links to whom and with what anchor text, on what URL, etc.) and to check automatically that outside links are still there.
This Links Manager. seems to be the closest to what we seek.
Has anyone had any experience with this one? Or do you have an alternative to suggest, please?
Thanks!
Cheers, MJ

Web CEO has a link manager/tracker. You could check it out to compare maybe.

Re: Link Management Software Needed for Multiple Sites
Good question. I'm setting up a website for a motel group with 325 members here in Australia. We'll easily be able to control links to the Member sites in group website, but it would be great to have a tool to manage the inbound links from the member websites. Trouble is these member websites are all over the shop with the way they are built and managed - many should be replaced. We may be able to set some controls within their sites using a software tool like the one you've highlighted, or at least give them guidance and then track the results.
I'm convinced the cluster affect of so many websites will help every member; both through results at the group website and from greater results at their individual website. Just figuring out how to harness the power of this opportunity is the problem.
Hopefully, you'll get some good answers we can all benefit from.
Thanks, Mark

Re: Link Management Software Needed for Multiple Sites
HI MJ,
I just had an online demo of HubSpot yesterday that does have a link management feature. It takes the link: command from Yahoo site explorer and crawls each one to determine if the link is still active and checks for a nofollow tag. If it finds a nofollow it is highlighted in red, otherwise green. The only downside is that it costs $250 a month. The software does other things as well, but it seems like you are looking strictly for a link management solution, so I am not sure if it is worth the dough for you. I am sure you could set up a demo as well to determine if it is worth it. Hope that helps. Oh almost forgot it also lists the anchor text that it crawls.

I use WL Professional Links Manager from #1 Professional Links Exchange Script. Manage One Way & Reciprocal Links. Automatic Links Exchange with hundreds of quality sites! more than one year. I can now manage all my links on all of my sites from one single place. One Way/3-Way or ABC link swapping. You can easily switch between reciprocal and one way link exchange type. I am Very Happy, it's simple enough for me to use. I recommend this software to anyone webmaster!

Interesting, we will look into that ... though you are right; it's steep .. I think we could get our own custom program written much more cost effectively ... but thank you ...

Thanks for the other suggestions ... I will be following up ...
Any more?
