Unhappy Exchange links

I receive many email everyday to ask for exchanging links with our website. Usaually i choose to ignore them. But i was told that exchanging links is not only of mutual benifit to the two sides, but also provide convenience for visitors to the websites.

Should i accept these offers?

it depends. certainly don't trade links with low quality sites because who you link/associate with affects your image and your ranking.

You have to judge the sites very critically. what you are told about link exchanges is true;they do create a benefit for the sites and the visitors, but the argument is often pushed around for any whichever reason anyways.

Think about it more in terms of content. if your site sells bras, then maybe it is in the best interest of your visitor to link to a site that sells women's underwear. because a product you recommend will be seen as trusted because they are buying a product or a service from your site since they trust your product/service.

this doesn't mean you need to go rush and create a links page right away and make as many exchanges as possible to get rankings - quite the opposite.

always think of a link in terms of a benefit for the visitor - if it isn't valuable to your visitor then don't trade links.

Yes, it depends... If someone email you same or related as your site you can linkexchange with them and if the site is a quality related site. Exchange link with them... If unrelated sites.. Don't linkexchange with them...

Thanks very much. anyway, sometimes i find it difficult to judge whether it is a related one or not. For unlike the bras selling website or other website like that, my website is actually a transaction platform for outsourcing industry, and it seems that business opportunities may exist everywhere...

Well, i believe that's a good idea to check those websites clearly and only link to those with high quality.

What's your niche? It depends on your niche if your niche is all about brass selling you can link with brass related sites....Don't link to example entertainment sites, tv shows, something like that.....

yes, bras was a... crude example. to help you make the decision of a good link partner think of it in terms or your users. are your outsourcing industries going to find your links, at the very least, informative?

sometimes it's hard to think of it from a consumer perspective; it reminds me of something i read when i was taking calculus back in college: "isn't it frustrating when you ask your calculus teacher a question about something he just said, and instead of explaining it he simply repeats it over again? It's as if calculus teachers forgot what it's like to be a student."

well it's the same thing here - don't forget what the consumer point of view is and tailor to that perspective.

but definitely check, as you said, that the websites are of high quality
