Dissapointed that I have to pay for the opportunity to bid on each potential item. Especially at a cost of $21 per lead. Building a reputation will allow you to charge but you might run into resistance otherwise.

Wes…thanks for your comments again. I understand the issue with an account activation fee scaring some away. The leads we get are from people that are actively looking for a web designer, graphic designer, etc.

You are paying $21 for a lead that no more then 4 other designers are getting. No bidding! On average each lead is only sent to 2-3 designers because of the nature of the clients project. We also offer discounted leads ranging from $5-15 per lead. You and I talked about “creditability” a couple days ago. If we sell JUNK leads, do you think we get any returning customers?

I have worked with other companies that provide this type of service and the fees are MUCH higher. My brother is a freelance designer and does no marketing, has a basic website, and relies solely on FreeDesignQuote.info and one other bidding site to get his jobs. He turns down 1-2 jobs per week because he doesn’t have time and design is all he does!

Wes, if you don’t want to pay for a lead, that’s fine. I completely understand if you are too busy to take on new clients. But the reality is, most designers are looking for work and we are able to connect clients to designers and for much less then others.

I am not saying this is the best way to get clients or you are going to make millions from our leads. It’s just a low-cost way to obtain new clients! I hope all this makes sense, this post is a little longer then I anticipated.

Well, as I shared, I think it is a huge cost per lead. You post numbers that your designers land 30-50% of the leads, which I'm not sure how that is possible if the lead is going to 3-5 designers.

I'm glad you've got family members being successful with this, but that is again another reason that people should be concerned. Who is paying for what? Who is getting the leads? What are they paying? But hey, it's just my opinion and what do I know about the lead generation arena?

Our lead costs are the same no matter of relation! If we get a request for a quote for a logo design for instance. We only offer that lead to those who provide logo design.

The lead generation industry is constantly changing and evolving. Mailing list companies are making a fourtune by selling lists. Through the years I have purchased over 20 Million records for direct mailing for the clients I consult. The ROI was always low and we were happy if the campain paid for itself. The leads generated from FreeDesignQuote.info are all targeted to the design world. These people are looking for design services. This is all we do, so we are pretty good at it!

Wes—without you giving proprietary information out, how are you getting your clients and where? How many a month do you get? I am curious to see the other ways to find clients. I assume PPC, SEO, and word of mouth? I wouldn’t mind comparing notes!
