Buying links

Buying links is a first for me and I would like to know the following regarding buying links with a PR higher than 6.

1. is it worthwile to buy links?
2. what are standard prices for links like this?
3. which source can be trusted for quality links?
4. are there good sources out there explaing the pros and cons?
5. anything else i should know?
